The Lebed Method
Focus on Healing through Therapeutic Exercise and
Movement
|
Description |
This gentle movement therapy was developed in
1980 by a professional dancer and two medical
doctors to combat the side effects of
breast cancer surgery and treatment, including
lymphedema. It was realized that this method is
also excellent for anyone who suffers from
physical weakness due to any surgery, injury or
disorder, and even weakness from aging. The
basis of the program is to stimulate the
lymphatic pathways of the body through specific
gentle movements.

Benefits |
Participants can
experience a decrease of pain, decrease of
scarring adhesions, decrease in edematous
swelling, increase in range of motion of joints,
increase in strength, and helps to release
endorphins that increase a feeling of well
being, and most importantly increase quality of
life. Since this therapy is set to music,
participants also just have fun. |
